Co-Founder / Trustee
BIO: I’m Mike, MD of Buoyant Upholstery. Co-founding Arafest is probably one of the biggest achievements of my life. My passions are my Family, Leeds United and my friends. From a stag-do in a field, to me enjoying a 2 night festival with 600 mates, raising thousands of pounds and achieving charitable status, is amazing. Handing the money over and working closely with my fellow ARAFEST committee has made my life one filled with so much joy and fulfilment. At 53, I feel I’m born again with a real purpose to make ARAFEST a charity that people will remember forever.

At Arafest, I’m a Co-founder and trustee, responsible for stage and entertainment management.
The only thing better than helping to organise such fantastic inclusive events, is raising money for such amazing causes whilst we do it.
BIO: I’m a jewellery designer and owner of High Maintenance Jewellery. I’m also a Space Allocation Co-ordinator at the University of Hull. I have been a part of Arafest from the start, in 2014. BIO: I am a carer and have raised lots of funds for various charities through competing in the Great North Run and cycling across India and from London to Paris. I joined ARAFEST as it’s my family’s brain child and I love being a part of changing children’s lives. My role is predominantly raising money through ticket sales, tombolla and the raffle.
BIO: Having worked in the construction industry virtually all my life, it’s great to be able to pass on my experience coordination wise and assist with a fantastic charitable organisation that is Arafest.
BIO: I’m a 45 year old, father of 2 and manage a busy ships agency in Immingham. I love music and started going to Arafest as a punter at the first official event. Wanting to help such a good cause, I volunteered to help out and it kind of snowballed from there. Proud to be part of a team of selfless individuals making this event better with each year.
BIO: By trade, I’m an Engineer, when it comes to Arafest, I’m a general handyman and ‘raffle ticket folder extraordinaire’. Anything you want doing, ask Dave. I became involved with Arafest during the 2nd year and have been involved ever since. I support Hull city in my spare time and enjoy cycling.
BIO: I’m a Contract Manager for a local construction company.
Having attended the first two years of Arafest as a guest, I was taken aback by how much hard work and dedication the organisers put into the event. To be part of this awesome team is a great honour.
BIO: I’m a manageress of a health and fitness centre. I have been part of Arafest since day one. I thinks it’s a fantastic charity, I recently joined the committee and felt very honoured to be asked. Hope to bring awareness and much needed money in.
BIO: I am a Registered Nurse with over 30 years’ experience in both the NHS and the private sector. I have devoted a large percentage of my career to caring for the elderly so when offered the opportunity to be on the Arafest committee which raises funds and supports children I felt privileged and thrilled to take part. Being involved with creating the name, I feel like I have earned my place
BIO: I work as a team member at RB. I love live music and the atmosphere that it creates. I have attended Arafest since the early days. The fact these brilliant events raise money for local charities only adds to its value for me. I was really pleased to be asked to be part of the Arafest committee, I am looking forward to officially being part of this dedicated team.
BIO: I am a Registered Adult Nurse. I have attended Arafest since its second event and instantly loved it. I have enjoyed baking for the events over the years, but feel really honoured to be invited to join the committee. The team put in so much work to make it happen, putting on fantastic events and raising money for local children’s charities. I am really pleased to be able to be part of Arafest.
